I’ve been pretty riled up @ the bailout; is it the end of capitalism? Is Bush gonna declare martial law? Are we royally #$%@!?
My wheels were spinning, my ‘contribution’ to the galactic airwaves a bunch of static…
Went outside and talked to a tree, a silver maple that’s right now turning its leaves from forest green (yes a pun) to a brilliant crisp royal red. This tree hangs over the deck of my friend’s, and it beams out so much peaceful energy, i slept underneath it last night.
Last night was a century ago. Today i was crazy. Fortunately, i took Zoili, Sky & Levy for a walk in the woods this afternoon. They’re 10, 7 and 6. Then we made a ‘fort’ of mattresses, pillows and sheets, and i read them a bedtime story beneath the draping laundry canopy.
Their faces did it; eyes aglow, (i’m inserting a picture from storytime last week), so involved in their story, the full innocence of childhood and life overcame (did i say overcame? I mean OVERCAME) the troubled ramblings of this mind.
Thanks to them, my quantum contribution to the galactic jet stream is now filled with love and appreciation. And if i get crazy again, i have the tree and them to bring me back to sanity. The world is in good hands, the collective heart of an awakening humanity. What can we as a species do to create more love in the world? Find some kids, and take them for a walk, or read them
bedtime stories…
Wishing you sweet dreams and a happily ever after…

Greetings,
And gratitude for your words, which seem to resonate with many of my own thoughts and feelings, in response to ‘the world’ and keeping sanity etc.
I found your blog from an email sent to the Herbalists site….
so good to know like-minded souls are out there, willing to have their voices heard.
Perfect!
As we hear about the news events, it is certainly a chance to practice staying in the peace of the present moment here and now!
Thanks for sharing your story. It is a beautiful reminder of the power of nature and of innocence. How wonderful you have the forest, the maple tree and fun with those kids to help you shift and bring you back into Now. Just reading about it I can feel it all; especially as I read about the maple, I feel its energy – soothing, grounding and peaceful.
Thank you.
