A Single Breath…

by Joebaby on October 5, 2010

God, fulfillment, Oneness, Union…

We search, we look, we think…  we wander thru life like beggars, searching…

All the while surrounded, immersed, saturated…

Its never anyplace else but right here, right now, in this moment…

Life is in the breath, life is the breath…

Any time, anywhere, in a moment, we return to oneness, to the present, with our breath…

Yes, it is this simple… You already know this truth…

A single breath, uniting heaven and earth, human and divine, you and God…

Our minds are trained to take us away, (it can’t be that simple… its more complicated than that… move on, this is crazy talk…)

Our minds are conditioned, invested, to return us to the hunt, seeking…

What do you want? Anther prize, another victory, another achievement

that will yet again disappoint you? Beautiful Being, nothing short of the Infinite

can fulfill you,

nothing short of Totality

is worthy of you…

Stop the seeking, throw down the cards, tip over the scale of us and them, yes and no, win and lose,

and fill yourself with what has always been present…

The Breath, uniting you with the infinite

of who you are…

in a single breath…

Absolutely ANYTHING done mindfully is a blessing…

(A realization that dawned on me as I was cutting up a big buttercup squash… I was harried, wanted to already be eating the squash, not prepping it, and as I went to cut the squash with a big knife on a wooden butcher block cutting board, I paused and remembered that I was not alone and that NATURE was with me…

… Took a conscious breath, blessing myself and the squash, (and EVERYTHING in the process), and leaned into the knife…

… as it slid so sweetly thru the squash’s firm yellow flesh, I felt the union of lover and beloved, hunger and satiation, knife, Joe & squash…

… and I reverently put down the knife, ran over here to the laptop, and started typing… it was one ECSTATIC moment! Now, I’m headed back to my beloved squash! XOXOXO
