The first time i saw someone swimming with wild dolphins was when i was a young kid. It was on TV, and the first thought i had was how fun it looked. The next thought was, ‘I want to do that!’

For years, whenever i saw a picture of a dolphin, the dream to swim with them would come to the surface. Over time, i began to recognize the impossibility of my dream, and i started to pull away from it. It hurt to admit it was another one of those wild childhood dreams that will never get fulfilled. It seemed wise to pull away from it, to distance myself from the disappointment, and by the time i was ten, i had equated pulling away from ‘childish’ dreams as a sign that i was ‘growing up’.

Then, a few decades later, when i had a kid of my own, some friends of mine told me about their experience swimming with wild dolphins out in the open ocean. In a flash all the joy and excitement of my childhood dream went through my body like a bolt of lightning.Oh my God!!!

And i knew, in that same moment, that i was going to make good on that dream, and get myself to wherever so i could swim with the dolphins myself! I was so excited!!!

I flew to Hawaii and spent a couple of weeks swimming with the spinner dolphins there. When i returned home, i began investigating where else we could swim with dolphins in the wild, and took my wife and three year old son on multiple trips to several locations to swim with wild dolphins, so they too could experience the magic that i felt.

Since that time, i’ve been bringing groups and families to swim with the wild dolphins in multiple locations, primarily Hawaii, Maui, and Bimini, in the Bahamas.

Swimming with the wild dolphins has powerfully changed my life. And it has changed the lives of practically everyone I’ve brought to swim with the wild dolphins these past 19 years. Young and old, skeptical and spiritual, everyone gets out of the water with a look of joy, reverence and awe in their eyes…

I continue to lead custom trips for families and groups to swim with wild dolphins. Swimming with them, in their home on their terms, is one of the most magical experiences in the world.
