A cause for Celebration…

A big, deep breath of Solidarity…

For what is happening in the Middle East, in Egypt, Libya and in Madison, Wisconsin and everywhere else around the world,

is that the ‘common man’ is being backed up and supported by… his brothers and sisters of different religions, faiths, traditions, races, unions, backgrounds…

The collective Heart of Humanity speaks, and it says ‘Enough’…

And this voice, the voice of all of us, is looking around in awe… seeing itself reflected in the hearts of people everywhere, globally…

We are of one voice… Yes!

But that’s just evidence… you already know this, you already feel it in your own heart…

Yes, it is happening and yes, these are the times we’ve been waiting for…

We will survive this upset, we will clean up the pollution and the polarization and the mess we have made whilst we mistakenly thought we were different from one another…

And you know what?

It will happen amazingly fast, because we will do it together…

And that’s a dream come true, ‘the’ dream, the dream that lives in every heart of every person everywhere, a dream we dared not hold too clearly…

Until now.

Humanity is United: Enough of separation, we celebrate our Oneness

I just finished reading a friend’s comment from yesterday’s post… James says he’s given up his business (he’d had it for many years) and he’s sitting at home with his cat, uncertain of what to do and waiting for what’s next to become apparent… What courage! He shares that as fear comes up, he breathes thru it…

Breaths thru it, breaths thru it…

I know that breath well; it has saved me a thousand times from the very hounds of hell… it has saved friendships when I took the time to pause, saved countless harsh words from passing these lips…

This breath has brought me peace in the face of danger; real and imagined. It has brought clarity in moments of uncertainty, has given courage in the face of the unknown, when something deep within urged me to step forward and I was unsure…

These days, as the spiritual energies continue to increase and profoundly alter the landscape of our lives, we are being presented with old patterns of judgment and beliefs that cannot go with us into the future… Like ancient family secrets they rear their ugly heads, seeking re-animation or release, release from the cycle of re-activation and knee-jerk response…

One of the simplest ways I have found to safely, consistently and even joyfully surf these intensified energies is with the breath…

Its become instinctive… reading James’ description, I found myself taking a deep breath… just as I’m taking a deep breath right now…

(Ahhhhhhhhh…..)

And as I take this breath; the air going into my lungs mixing with feelings of mindfulness and relaxation, my awareness follows it…

This breath, filled with loving energy, goes into and expands beyond the image of these lungs and this body… propelled by a motion all its own it goes deeper, to a vastness behind the curtain of ‘me’ and ‘you’…

I see the web, a meshed grid of connectivity that extends out of sight… the web of life; the energetic grid behind all form and illusion of separation…

Watching, I see the energy of this one conscious breath adding more light to this already pulsing grid..  I feel the energy of this blessing mixing and adding to the whole… insignificant as one breath might seem to the mind, I watch in awe the difference one breath makes… one drop joining another and another…

OMG… I feel this! This is the grid of our awakening Oneness!

And in inspiration, I take another breath…

… and feel love deepening; feel James and me and you and all of us, feel where we are all connected, all One… from some witness viewpoint I see the grid growing brighter, more vibrant from every… single… act… of love everywhere…

Such is the magic and power of these times, that our every act of love significantly affects everything everywhere… I am in awe of these times, give thanks to the wisdom of taking birth to be here now…

And I take in another… slow… conscious… breath, feel it blessing every… single… cell in this body and beyond…

And what of your… breath… this …day…? How… is… it… blessing you…?

Sept 21 was International Peace Day!

I was atop a big pine tree on an island north of Toronto… this tree, and Nature in general, gave me some insight into peace…

I find myself reacting to people’s comments to ‘make peace’… like it isn’t there, then we create it. Ha! The arrogance of the mind…

Nature in her wisdom and beauty reminds me that peace always is, whether we take notice of it or not… Peace is the space, the silence from which all music/life springs forth. If the music is filled with strife, it may obscure our awareness of the peace of its origins, but it doesn’t affect it…

I feel the truth of this resonating in my being as I type… felt it just as strongly in the tree… all of Nature, everything around me, echoes this truth…

Is it true for you??? Check and see… take a conscious breath… pause… listen to the silence… despite the mind’s rambling, do you feel the peace???

Pine trees emit a frequency that quiets and calms the overactive mind… this one calmed and rocked me… the view from the top is spectacular!

Wow, its crazy today… Its been crazy all week!

Anyone notice how fast things are moving these days? And they’re going to keep moving faster!

What to do? Regardless of how hectic, I can always return to the breath…

Breath…      Smile…     Relax…       Its a foolproof formula!

Amidst a whirlwind of doing, responding, preparing and organizing, a single breath brings me back to center…

Again and again…

And again…

Again…

Ahhh…

My friend Matt called, said let’s go spearfishing! My joy said YES (I love the ocean). It was already mid-afternoon and I was ravenous…

Once I get in the water, I’m typically there for two or three hours, and I burn a few thousand calories. I needed to get some food in me fast…

There was nothing at home to eat, I had to grab something on the way…

On the way, wondering what to get to eat, I was seized by an inspiration…

I grabbed my camera and started filming…

Spraying Sacred Water at NEIU's Peace Conference in Chicago

I did another water ceremony today, at the ‘Gathering for Peace’ here in Ft. Lauderdale.

I brought my secret weapon – the spray bottle.

When I started using a spray bottle in my water ceremonies, it was to reach people in the outer circles. I did an Equinox ceremony with over 500 people, my spray bottle reached every single one of them!

I bought it at the dollar store. (Guess how much I paid for it?) I’m on my third. They don’t last long, but they sure got reach!

I used to set it for the long thin squirt; its powerful and gets the job done. But now, I mostly set it to mist; it has a totally magnetic effect and people move close, wanting to get wet.

At the Wisdom of the Elders retreat, I was in the speaker’s line saying goodbyes. Most people are giving hugs; I’m giving hugs and a squeeze (of the bottle). Squirting holy water in people’s faces revealed a pattern.

On the first squirt, everyone jumps. The next squirt, they all smile. Nice transition! So I learned to give them another squirt, and another. Some people just keep smiling, so I keep squirting.

At first, it was hard to know when to stop. I didn’t want to overdue it, nor did I want to stop spraying someone who was having a good time. And a lot of these folks were going deep into bliss!

Sometimes I got entranced with them, until the hugging line backed up and jostled us out of our reverie. I was ecstatic, jumping into such a playful samadhi with so many people!

I got braver, and for the people who kept smiling, I kept squirting. For some, the more I squirted, the bigger they smiled. And as long as their smile kept getting bigger, I kept squirting!

With a couple people, (the real fun-lovers), the ecstasy kept rising until we started laughing and roaring! The joy got the best of us, we definitely got ‘out of hand’ a few times.

We got a few stern looks, (which temped me to squirt them), but realized they were reflecting my own discomfort for being so ‘out there!’ Fortunately my solution was readily at hand - another squirt!

There’s nothing like a squirt bottle to find the fun-lovers!
