It’s autumn here, and after three weeks of outrageous colors, it’s STILL outrageous!
The colors keep changing… a lot of the leaves have fallen, and the season here is well past it’s ‘peak’.
I’ve noticed a few times my mind reminding me of that; (Hey, its past the peak season, get back to what you were doing).
Almost as if, all that’s left is leftovers…
Ha!
My eyes, reminded to see beauty thanks to Nature’s constant onslaught, laugh gaily at the thought of anything less than outrageous. And outrageous is what they see…
In the fading light of this afternoon, I went for a run thru the hills and fields behind Jen’s home. After weaving thru mowed pastures and wooded trails, I ended up cooling down with a long walk back along the railroad tracks…
The tiny plants living between the tracks caught my eye again and again… until I finally just gave up and sat, plunking my butt on the cold steel track, drinking in the colors from the growth at my feet…
I love being a sucker for beauty!
The view from above…
It is only the mind, in its assessment of the world around us, that sees anything other than beauty.
How much time is worth spending contemplating beauty?
