I saw her arms, thought they were tatoos… colorful with a beautiful message…
It was day 2 of Shawne’s ‘Media Mastery Bootcamp‘, and I didn’t remember seeing those colors on Maya’s arms yesterday.
So I walked up and asked!
“I painted these on to give support and hope to women who cut themselves out of pain or depression”, said Maya, “So they have a more beautiful frame of reference”
A friend of mine told me a few years ago about how her daughter began cutting her arms out of self hatred… she was a teenager and in a lot of pain… Today I looked at some of the photos posted on TWLOHA’s (To Write Love on Her Arms) facebook page… as I was scrolling thru, saw one arm with ‘LOVE’ painted on it, with tiny rows of parallel white scars beneath it…
Its working, pass it on.
