Indigo Kids at Battery Park, NYC
Marcos and I were in Battery Park, the south tip of Manhattan, headed to the Staten Island Ferry. We heard the magical sound of children’s laughter.
We went over and found about fifty kids posing for a picture. Most of the kids were from Japan. Seeing all these kids, I got inspired, and asked the teacher if it was OK to ask the kids to bless the spray bottle filled with holy water.
She was a little nervous, said a tentative yes. She invited a couple kids over.
One of them, the young boy in blue, (he said he’s from Turkey) started telling the other two what we were doing. It was as if he’d done this ceremony before. An old soul from way back!
He said for us all to put our hands on the bottle together. He said that after we sprayed it in the ocean, our joy will spread, and then people will remember that kids have a lot of joy. His friend added “And that joy will be spread all over the world”.
I filmed the tail end of his sermon. He inspired me profoundly. He spoke with authority, centeredness and certainty, and I was ready to do whatever he asked.
